The idea of these small fictional creatures root their origins in European mythology.
The males have long, full beards and wear tall, pointed red hats. They are generally shy of humans and try to stay out of sight. In modern fantasy literature, gnomes are Santa’s helpers. They are helpful creatures who came from Norway and headed to the North Pole to assist Father Christmas and his Elves in fighting the wicked Goblins.

Accenting your home is what solar powered lights do best! Solar accent lights are not powerful enough to become the main source of lighting at this stage in their development. They do provide additional illumination and safety for your garden, and this is the perfect job for these freestanding lighting devices.

Here is where you can get really creative with your patios, trees, shrubs or xeriscape gardens. Solar accent lights can bring that certain style and mood to your nocturnal landscape and add character during the day time.

This is what came in this set. Some parts are plastic, some aluminum and some are stainless steel. So we cannot call it a completely stainless steel light as it was presented to us. But the light is still good quality in comparison to some other solar accent lights on the market.

Solar accent lights can be found in many styles and with many characteristics for your particular house style. For these guys you will need to choose the sunniest location to get the most benefit from the sun, because the solar cell is built into the individual fixtures. Charges will typically last up to 8 hours. The fixtures will also turn on and off automatically.

A vast collection of solar accent lights is available throughout on-line and local stores. We’ve tested quite a few of them and are showing some of our favorites here.

When it comes to solar pathway lights that are built into a wooden deck or your pathway pavement, this becomes a perfect application for solar powered lights! This light is not meant to illuminate, but to mark a path or to create an art piece out of your patio, driveway or your garden.

These little guys turn on automatically with darkness and will work with no fuss for the next 2 years. The batteries will have to be replaced as the quality of light starts failing after 2 years. Don’t forget to recycle your old batteries as you get new ones!

Solar pathway lights are the perfect tool for artistic expression of your home designs. There are no wires to worry about. The lights can also be placed into your garden walls to create a nice ambiance at night on the back of your garden.

Unfortunately, we were not able to find these lights with glass covers on them, but when placing your lights, try to locate them away from heavy traffic areas to keep the plastic tops clean and clear from unwanted scratches.

Other pathway light are available as well. Here we are reviewing solar pathway lights as posts. But to see more images of Solar Pathway Lights application, look HERE.

As with any solar lights, selection is very important with solar powered spot lights. The main purpose of any spot light… it has to be bright. Most solar powered spot lights are lacking in this quality. So when you choose your spot light, look for more LEDs and for reflective qualities of the light’s cover.

Spot lights are usually sold in sets of 2, 3, 4 or more. Some are connected by a wire and have only one solar cell collecting power. This gives it the flexibility to be placed your solar spot light in a shady area with the collector in a sunny spot, but they all have to be placed near each other depending on the length of the wire between each light. We recommend stainless steel body lights for longevity of the light.

One of the brightest spot lights that we’ve come across is Plastic Solar Spot Light with 4 Bright LEDs.

Do you have a problem with rodents but don’t want to kill any animals in your garden? This is an environmentally friendly pest control device which emits a powerful ultrasonic wave through your lawn to eliminate ground hogs and other varmints. Effective coverage about 7,000 SF (or 650 square meters), and emits sounds underground every 30-50 seconds. There are no batteries to replace or wires to plug in. Its solar powered panel makes it ideal for do-it-yourself homeowners. For best results, place the 2 units approximately 60 ft. apart in the highest hazard area. Read more.

As we all know, a solar light, as any electric light, has a certain life span. The life span of an average solar light will depend on the conditions of its use and the quality of the product. YourSolarLink company feels that it is their obligation to recycle any used solar light sold by both their company or any other solar light companies. They are committed to reduce landfill waste produced by humans.

YourSolarLink has started a NEW SOLAR LIGHT RECYCLING PROGRAM! Their goal is to reuse all of the components of the solar light. The process is similar to one that is currently being utilized to recycle other electronic devices. If it is determined that it is not practical to rebuild a light by a recycling partners, the unit will be harvested for reusable parts. The balance of the structure, as well as totally failed components, will then be broken down to recover base materials such as plastic and metal. These units will be disassembled manually to minimize damage to useable components and to allow for a cleaner material on the downstream processing.

Solar Garden Lights are a way to celebrate changes of seasons in your garden while being eco friendly. Decorate your front yard, backyard or part of your landscape with a touch of a green technology – solar decorative lighting! No electricity is needed for these solar garden lights.

These decorative solar lights are very easy to install outside or even inside of your home. To keep your solar lights at home, try locating the solar panel by your south facing window. It will get enough sun light to power them up at night time. Covering your solar panel during the day will light up your lights during day hours if you need it.

Solar garden lights will be a wonderful addition to your eco friendly house. Replace your existing electrical string lights with solar string lights and watch your electric bill go down.
